Fantasy Pez
Fantasy Pez are not actually made by the Pez Candy Company. They are Pez that have been changed, altered, or modified with other toys or items. Although these are not considered to be true Pez dispensers they have been know to catch a fair price by Pez collectors. The reason fantasy Pez are created is for a few different reasons. People love to be creative and show off their artistic talents, or to add some variety into Pez collections. It's always nice to show off some Pez that no one has seen before, or to have a character that Pez has yet to put on a dispenser. (Below) are some fantasy Pez that i have made or have in my personal collection.
(Above) These are called "Textured" When you texture the black plastic it almost gives the dispenser a shine when the light reflects off of it. The Flintstone set sold at a Pez auction for $20.00, Mickey and Minnie sold for $10.00 each, and the holidays sold to a close friend for $30.00. It takes me between 15-45 minutes to make one depending on the amount of detail.
These fantasy Pez hold a very special place in my heart. They were actually made by my wife, Jody when she saw some of the fantasy Pez that i had made, she came up with the idea to hand paint some. This process of hand painting is very time consuming, and she spent many hours crafting these fantasy Pez. Her first set of Flinstones are in my personal collection, the Simpsons were given to her brother (who also collects Pez and loves the Simpsons,) and the Warhol Mickeys have not left the house either, she once said she would donate them to a charity auction...
